As we say goodbye to 2024, I'd first like to say thank you.
I know this has been a very difficult year for many, and I'm incredibly grateful for the support of my customer base. I can't describe how much joy it brings me to see people using things I made to express musical creativity.
For those of you who may not know, Infrasonic Audio is just one person (me, Nick). I started doing this in 2022 driven purely by ambition, and I had no idea if I'd be successful or how long I could keep doing it. Making synthesizers is a labor of love, and it wouldn't be possible without the amazing people who have an insatiable passion for electronic sounds.
Even though the year didn't go quite how I planned, I'm happy I've been able to keep doing this and it wouldn't be possible without your support.
So, again, thank you for being a customer, and here's to a 2024 that hopefully brings new electronically-musical ideas to life!
---
I'd also love to share a few exciting things that happened in 2024 for Infrasonic Audio, and a few things that I'm looking forward to in 2025.
By the way, please excuse the occasional "royal we" in some of the stuff below, and in my marketing in general - sometimes it feels super weird to me if I say "I did X" or "...my module...".
Although Infrasonic Audio is just me, synth-heads are a community and everything I do requires support from multiple people š
DISENTANGLER Launched!
Our second (well, second-and-a-half) module.
DISENTANGLER soft-launched in September at Knobcon 2024, where I was fortunate enough to meet some of you in person. The initial response was very promising, so we expanded our initial teeny-tiny production run pretty quickly!
This is the first all-analog design from Infrasonic Audio, and helped inspire confidence to take on new designs going forward.

Noisebug Picked Up Our Modules
Exclusive US Retail Partner for our Modules
This year Noisebug became our exclusive US Retail partner, making our modules available to a larger audience, and we're pretty stoked about that. Suffice to say Warp Core would not be restocked right now without their support.
SynthUX Audrey II
Our DSP, brought to hardware by SynthUX Academy
Right around the time I started the company, I wrote some code for the Daisy Seed based on a feedback physical model design from my grad school days. The SynthUX "Simple" kit seemed like a fast and simple (pun intended) way to get some controls attached to it, so I did just that and published the code open-source for the community.
With my permission, and some conceptual/visual iterations with Roey at SynthUX, this became "Audrey II" which has had quite an incredible reaction in the synth community!
Although I was not involved in the electrical engineering, hardware design, manufacturing, or marketing of this iteration of the synth, I'm beyond excited that my concept and sound engine have been so warmly received, and I'm looking forward to further potential collaborations with SynthUX.
Check out the interview I did with them last month!
Contract Work
(aka the stuff that keeps us busy ā and still in business!)
Something you might not know: the majority of Infrasonic Audio's business in 2024 came from the contract development work I do with other synth makers, including DSP and firmware development as well as occasional electronics engineering and design.
This year I enjoyed working on challenging and rewarding projects with Modbap Modular, Heiroglyphic (Plume), && (Wear & Tear), Sound Workshop (Wiggler), Eternal Research (Demonbox), and many others I can't name just yet but am very excited to see launch products in 2025!
A Look Ahead to 2025
Looking ahead to 2025, I'm determined to get a new module out this year - something already making sounds I'm really excited about and which I've teased a bit here and there. I had a design basically ready to order hardware prototypes, but then got some really helpful feedback that made me rethink the entire layout (and size) of the module. Stay tuned for more about that, hopefully sooner than later!Although I don't have my own table, I'll be at the Buchla & Friends event in January (coinciding with NAMM). This will be my first time visiting LA, ever, and I'm looking forward to hanging out with synth makers and fans alike.
Many thanks once again, and I wish you a happy, fulfilling, and creatively fruitful 2024!
